In the 1st letter to the Corinthians the Apostle Paul writes, "No trial has overtaken you that is not distinctively human; and God is faithful; · he will not let you be tested beyond what you can bear." 1 Corinthians 10:13 I pray that these words will prove to serve as a reminder that, even in the most difficult of circumstances, when nothing seems to be going as we would wish, our God is Lord of all. Not only is he Lord of all but he promises that if only we would put our trust in him he will guide us and keep us safe and give us the strength to face even the most trying of times.
My prayer for each of us in the days and weeks ahead, is that together we would remain strong in faith and love, and that rather than being overcome with fear and grief we might daily find things to be thankful for. I pray that beyond hardship we might find opportunity, and that together we might stand faithful and strong in the power of the Holy Spirit as channels of God's love to a fearful and hurting world.
I pray that we might stay safe and well, and that moving forward into a future where our world is going to become a very different place, we might know the peace and love of God which surpasses all understanding. In Jesus name I pray. Amen
